The vibrant town of Palapye is home to a group of talented and innovative individuals who have taken the local music scene by storm. Meet Heavy Beats DJs, a unique squad of seven DJs and two MCs who have redefined the art of live performances. Managed by the dedicated Brighten Keabetswe Vinte, this group of passionate youngsters is setting the stage for a new era of entertainment in Botswana.
The Birth of Heavy Beats DJs
The story of Heavy Beats DJs began during the challenging days of the lockdown when different DJs came together to bring music to the people through live sessions on Facebook. This initiative, known as **Heavy Beats Live Sessions**, quickly gained a following, providing much-needed entertainment during uncertain times. As the world started returning to normalcy, some members of the original group pursued individual careers, but the spirit of collaboration remained strong among those who stayed.
In 2022, five of the original members—DJ Les Joh, DJ Fasso, DJ Lux, DJ Pesko, and DJ Sonic—decided to rename the group Heavy Beats DJs. Their ranks were soon bolstered by the addition of DJ MJ DA DEEP, DJ Cappy, and MC PYS, forming a solid team of seven DJs and one MC. The journey continued, and earlier this year, another MC, MC Doc Sasa, joined the team, along with their visionary manager, Brighten Keabetswe Vinte, also known as Mr. Manager.

Heavy Beats DJs have graced nearly every notable venue in Palapye, including Pin Ville, Legacy, Lekhanda, Deep Town, Pub 22, Royal Oak, 422 Bar, and Guzzlers Jazz Lounge in Serowe. Their talent has also taken them to Chillers Grillers Sunday Chillas and popular local hotspots like Oxygen Club, Wamzito Club, and United Lounge.
They are featured every Saturday on **Yarona FM’s VVA Show – The Red Hot Party** (DJ Booth), further solidifying their reputation as top-tier entertainers.
