“MY LIFE CHALLENGES,” VIJO KAY

I am Kagiso Duncan Leshane, a 22-year-old young man born and raised in Lecheng. Before getting into the music industry, I faced some challenges in life. That is what drove me to become a musician.

From my primary school days, I would be forced to walk about 4 to 5 Km to school. This would affect my learning as I would get to school tired without even having the time to relax as lessons would be in progress. However, I never gave up on school,

I kept pushing. I started learning how to sing and dance and that is when I was enlightened of my talent.

After my Cambridge level, life presented me with more challenges as I had nothing to do to earn a living due to my limited experience and qualifications. I then decided to pursue my God-given talent which is music. “Dear mama” is the first song I released as an appreciation of my mother’s love and the tough times that I have gone through.

The song highlights to my mom that even though I did not perform well at school, i will work to my fullest capabilities to improve our livelihood.

After releasing my track “Dear mama” on the 30^th of August, I then went on to release “letter to

God”. The track highlights all the situations that everyone goes through. With all the tracks that I have released, I have seen some appreciation and support which really boosted my confidence and has given me the courage to do more. I am currently working on an album. The one thing that however remains my biggest challenge is raising money for my music production.
