Girly Nurtures Her Talent In Her Tender Age
There are many people born with talent but usually have to wait for a whole of time to make use of as they always feel too young to invest unto it and nurture it and even economise it. They would want to wait until they are a certain age to make a career out of it, well that has not been the case with little Girly. A young 14 year old girl who hails from Thamaga and has been a gospel singer since she was 11 years old. The young star had a talk on her being an artist with Celebrity World recently.
For how long have you been in music?
I have been in music since I was 11 years old but I started singing at church Sunday school when I was 6 years of age.
What kind of genre do you work along and why?
Gospel music because I grew up in a Christian family.
You are a very young artist, how is that like for you?
Being a young artist is quite interesting and a great experience as I am learning from well-established artists every day.
What led you to venture in this career of music?
I was inspired by South African Gospel artists such as Rebecca Malope and Benjamin Dube.
As a singer, what inspires you when you write your music?
I am inspired by the word of God to write my songs and I take most of my songs from the bible.
So how do you balance your music life and your school life?
I do music during weekends and during the week I concentrate on doing school work.
Is it easy for you young as you are to make your way through the music industry?
It is not easy, there are a lot of challenges there and there especially on the side of finances.
As an artist, upcoming and growing, what are your aspirations?
I wish to have more albums and videos. I really want to see growth in my music career.
Which artists do you desire to work with?
Here in Botswana I desire to work with Pastor Molf and Rebecca Malope in SA.
Where do you dream to see yourself performing at?
I dream myself to be performing in South Africa.
