Makeup brings confidence, power and sometimes people use it to express themselves. It takes a certain skill or talent to execute so that it is more appealing and attractive. With the level of creativity and flawlessness that we always see in your work, we are quite astonished by it and would love to get to know all about that. Keleteso who likes to go by the vivacious name ‘Kelly Laughs A Lot’ recently shared with us, her background in makeup artistry.
Do you remember your first makeup item?
Red lipstick, growing up I couldn’t wait to put it on and look like the models and actresses I’d always see on TV and magazines.
Share with us the kind of makeup you are into.
Currently I’m into editorial and Avant-garde makeup, the outcomes are endless, it could be simple line make up or extra complicated full-face transformation. Really just depends on my mood.
What kind of coverage do you prefer from foundation?
Super full coverage ‘hunnay’ because my acne marks Chile, embarrassing, lol
In your opinion, what is the most important quality in a Makeup Artist?
In the artistry sense, it would be the ability to enhance the customer’s beauty whilst delivering exactly what they asked for. In the business sense, it’s the ability to create a comfortable space for the customer so they feel free to tell you exactly what they want.
That way the outcome will be satisfactory to the customer.
What cosmetic brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?
Fenty Beauty, Nars, Too Faced, basically all the American high end brands.
How do you stay abreast of the latest beauty trends?
I try to but cannot most of the time because of lack of resources.
Do you wear fake eyelashes?
Ever since I learnt how to put them on, no look is complete with them. Lol
Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?
Used to be eyebrows, now its lip-gloss, although this pandemic is making it useless to put on gloss cause of the facemasks
What is your most cherished beauty product?
My BH Cosmetics Take Me To Brazil Eye shadow Palette. It was my first ever colourful palette and it will always have a special place in my heart.
How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there or get lots of goodies at once?
Every month end, I get one or two items to add to the collection
Recall a time you had to face a frustrated customer who wasn’t satisfied with the hair or makeup services you provided. How did you handle it?
I haven’t experienced that but I would give them 2 options; to restart at that very moment or come for a redo whenever they’d like.
