A Glimpse Into Art By Rachael
Her name is Rachael Tshole, she’s a 23 year old contemporary multidimensional artist based in Francistown. Besides Art she’s an Accounting Tech and plans on running a few small businesses.
Art plays an important role in Rachael’s life as it’s a part of all of us. She describes Art as a great way to calm yourself and decrease stress levels and if you make regular time in your schedule for creativity, you’ll instantly start to see results in how you feel. “Art speaks its own language whether it’s a painting, sculpture, dance routine or your favourite song. It is able to say things that words sometimes can’t. It’s an international language that anyone from anywhere can understand and be inspired by,” she added.
Rachael said she realized her art skills when she was in standard 1, and her teacher told her that she could draw and that stuck to her mind ever since. She defines her art as modern and very multidimensional, it is made to please the eye, adding that she taps into various forms of art from portraits, landscape, abstracts, non-objectives and figure paintings. It has truly changed her life because now she gets to express herself the way nobody else can and she is living her dream of being an artist.
According to Rachael, her art is inspired by challenges of art she faces every day. She’s always looking for inspiration and finds it by forcing herself to work whether or not she’s already inspired. The challenge of the work itself is what usually engages her. She has a pretty good work ethic and believes strongly in practice. So on the rare occasions when she’s struck by some outside inspiration, she’s ready for it, and able to execute her ideas.
Her first exhibition was at the Gaborone International Whiskey Tasting Festival, along with other artists, but she haven’t yet exhibited in her own solo exhibition. With the business operating from her home studio in Francistown, Rachael has clients from all sorts of different groups of people. She started the business off on quite a good note, she has created many different artworks that people have loved and purchased than right now in this pandemic, things are a little bit hard but nothing that she can’t handle. The ambitious Rachael sees herself owning an art shop and exhibiting in the biggest exhibitions in the country in the near future.
