Talent, hard work and passion are combination that led to the growth of Benjamin One Boitumelo’s business. The Limkokwing graduate started his company by painting shoes as a part-time job in 2013 after he completed his Cambridge.

Art Handz Pty Ltd started to operate in early 2015 and it is the same year it was registered. The love for sneakers art and fashion drove him into this business concept. Amateki Culture is the business brand name which means sneaker culture. To him, sneaker customizing was also a rare business in the country when he started his own but after he fully came in; it grew and he saw the mushrooming of upcoming artists.

When starting his business, he bought all that he needed, took his old sneakers that had worn out and put more of creativity on them using paints. He then shared their pictures on his Facebook page and the number of followers amazed him. Benjamin mentioned that he got into this business with passion to run his brands on his own and make a living out of it.

Talking about uniqueness of this project, he said its vision and level of creativity says it all. It says, “Transforming simplicity or basic to sophisticate in fashion and sneakers by hand painting and design.” “It’s different because it allows people to express themselves through design requests that suit their character either on clothes or sneakers,” he added.

The passionate Benjamin said in 2017 he collaborated with Options Stores after he customized a customer’s sneakers in-store immediately after purchasing them. He further said his level of creativity and craftsmanship brought him to where he is today.

According to him, his journey has been well since he ventured into this business. Although every industry has productive and none productive times, for him it has been amazing so far because of the support he gets from people.

“One word I’d use to describe this brand is, sophisticated because I’m not limited to designs and creativity. What’s coming up for me in future is a surprise for all fashion lovers. I’d like people to follow me on Facebook and Instagram,” he said.
