KGOSI YA MOSADI TO ROCK IT WITH KOFFI
On the 29 of October this year, Kgosi ya Mosadi herself as she refers to herself, Charma gal will be bringing a show that has had many talking about
so far. The talk has been also mostly fuelled by the fact that she is set to headline the show alongside South Central Africa’s music giant and the Congolese Rhumba star, Koffi.
Koffi Olomide is among the
greatest Congolese and African musical artists of all time. Many artists look up to him for inspiration. President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) recently appointed him as one of the country’s cultural
ambassadors and that says a lot on him being a headliner to his upcoming show.
As for the queen or Kgosi ya mosadi, which is the rightful Setswana way to
refer to a queen, her amount of work in the music industry as well does speak for itself making
her well-deserved of the name “kgosi ya mosadi” indeed. Thereis only so much one can expect from these two big artists in their own right on the 29 of October.
The show will be held at the national stadium and it has been welcomed by the Gaborone Central MP and even the Gaborone City mayor as well His Worship Austin Abram was very pleased and receptive of
this upcoming major concert.Speaking to the press regarding this show, Mr Abram said that the city was pleased to add such an event as this to the
countless list of other event that have been held in the city and were just historic and impactful even economically.
He went on to hail the creative arts industry which he said plays a huge part in the economic development of many countries worldwide and for so long played a vital role in the economy of Botswana as well. As for the upcoming show itself it is set to impact the city
of Gaborone as well on that one day as many sectors get affected just by that one show taking place on that day.
As for the Kgosi ya mosadi, she said that this show was meant to sell our culture to other nations so that they also get to know about this show. She even argued to Brand Botswana and
Botswana tourism to also rally with them and be on board with this project.
