Kobamelo Moeti from Borolong village who currently finished her Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Mobile and Web Technologies at Botswana Accountancy College this year, started business at the age of 19.
She currently ventured into events and decorations. The young lady of 22 years compares this business with art because it requires a certain level of creativity and passion in designing and planning. According to her, the motive behind her business is to make ends meet for her family and save money to pursue her master’s degree. It is also her wish to help and motivate other young entrepreneurs that can make it in the same industry
She started her business three months ago after getting to know about it from a friend and grew passion for it. She said that she also watches YouTube videos to learn more on how to go about it and with the little money that she had saved while she was a student she managed to buy a few materials and eventually as everything fell into place she got 50% of the materials needed.
Talking about how the business is doing, she said that “The business is doing well in the market, we are always fully booked during weekends. Through practicing good customer care, service delivery and advertising, the business runs with no fail.”
According to Kobamelo, what makes Mor Events & Decor different from other competitors is that her company is not after making million profits but all they want is to build a huge audience and deliver the best services to their clients. Their greatest achievement so far is all the materials they managed to gather and the audience they built in three months of the birth of the business.
To her, the most difficult thing about this business is transport because she doesn’t own a car at the moment, so transportation of materials to their client’s venue is always a problem.
The fact that she wants to grow this business even more keeps her going every day and she doesn’t see herself giving up until it reaches the point where God has planned out. “I see Mor Events & Decor signing big contracts with big companies in the near future. I see us opening branches in other places like Francistown,” she added.
