DJ COLLYMORE-YOUNG CHANCER ON SELF-DISCOVERY
His journey as a Disc Jockey-cum-Producer began on a trial and error motive. He would lambast himself for hitting the wrong knobs and failing to scratch smoothly on record turntables-on his way to mastering the deejaying techniques. His sleepless nights were short-lived as the self-taught DJ/Producer managed to produce quality music from the onset, using pirated Digital Working Stations from his bedroom. Louis Collymore, first fell in love with music at an early age. This enabled him to develop a good ear for music. Besides, he nurtured his ability to create blazing sounds that keep masses on their toes.
Things took a twist for the better, when he was playing his first single at GIMC in 2019. Soon after that debut appearance, the number of his listeners grew rapidly. Titled “Ambush”, his first single was nominated number 11 on Taffy Raw Top 40 Namibian Radio Station-beating multitudes of regular faces on their turf. His second single featuring Mickii from Nigeria, was played a record 8 times on BBC Radio UK; a feat that remain elusive for most new kids on the block.
Collymore started his musical education in his childhood. From a naive teenager, he has turned out to be a respected deejay among his legion of fans. Fast forward to 2020, he’s now a veteran DJ with a long professional career spanning 8 years. His ability to create a fusion of different music styles, focused on excessive dancing defines him as a versatile DJ. He performs from sets in House genres namely; Dance, Afro, Tech, Electronica, Dub & Progressive House.
He headlines a talk show on Access TV & Gabz FM. His name already adorns numerous line-ups of the famous festivals around Botswana. Besides a documentary about his life, we can look forward to many new surprises and feed from his palm this yearlong. He is currently focusing on his career with several releases scheduled for 2020 and now he has a new Song named “Ten Thousand Hours’’ released on 22 June 2020. Right now, a project is under way that Collymore’s working on-scheduled to be released on the eve of Wednesday 25th of November. It’s called “Bleeding Guitar”.
